Wondering tonight - if one cannot move forward without leaving something behind, does that also mean that loss brings forward motion?

I have to ask that in general terms, because I can think of situations where, in the face of loss, a person could resist forward motion. Or can they?

Every time a person suffers loss, they are thrust into a new existence, like it or not.

I think the rest of my thoughts on this tonight are going to stay in my head...
